Job description:
We are looking to hire a Second Shift Mechanic to work out of our Melrose Park, IL headquarters. The position is responsible for mechanical repairs and maintenance of industrial machines.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly. Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
- Record repairs and maintenance performed.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum requirements:
- 3+ years of related experience
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical failures on large/heavy industrial machinery (paint lines, punch presses, roll-forming machines) in an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Solid understanding of safe work practice and OSHA requirements
- Must be comfortable working at heights
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Able to work in a non climate-controlled plant. Hot in the summer, cold in the winter.
