Job Description:

Th Human Resources Generalist role is responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and other HR administrative functions within the company in order to support the company’s growth and management’s people needs.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit qualified candidates for open positions, relying heavily on sourcing and hunting for qualified candidates.  Review applicants and passive candidates’ resumes, completing phone, videoconference and in-person interviews to determine qualifications. 
  • Communicate with candidates frequently to inform them of employment possibilities, consideration, and selection process.
  • Post job vacancies on websites and online job boards. Update and maintain job descriptions based on the specific requirements of the hiring manager(s) for each vacancy and based on a solid understanding of the needs of the company.
  • Attend career fairs
  • Find and/or review staffing agencies and headhunters to help support recruitment activities.  Review service and fee agreements, negotiating terms that are in line with company’s objectives and standards.  Introduce outside firms to the company and our open positions, and communicate staffing needs to the firms with which we work.
  • Initiate background checks and motor vehicle checks
  • Conduct new hire orientation, communicating the company’s culture along with policies.  Make arrangements with the newly hired employee and his/her manager for their onboarding and a smooth first day.
  • Prepare and maintain personnel files, entering new hire information into HRIS and updating HRIS as needed
  • Conduct informational benefit meetings and enter appropriate information into carrier portals
  • Perform monthly benefit reconciliation audits to ensure accuracy between payroll deductions and insurance carrier portals
  • Respond to unemployment notices in a timely manner and participate in phone hearings when requested
  • Report worker's compensation claims to insurance carrier and participate heavily in the worker's compensation insurance policy renewal efforts and audits
  • Provide support for immigration matters, including L-1A, L-1B, H-1B, F-1/OPT/STEM OPT, and E-2 visas. Partner with immigration attorneys, employees, and management to ensure the timeliness and success of petitions.
  • Participate in the processing of weekly and biweekly payrolls and the corresponding reporting.
  • Participate in Month End Close, completing various HR-related and finance-related reports sent to Parent Company and local finance department.
  • Provide employees and management with day-to-day HR support covering a wide range of topics, from answering general questions to include however not limited to leave of absences, benefits and policies.
  • Other duties as needed​​​​​​​

Minimum requirements:

  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university
  • Comfortable making sound decisions independently
  • Candidates must have integrity, be highly analytical, and have a strong desire to be deeply involved in the business. Candidates must be organized and methodical in their work, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt easily to change. Candidates must be able to persevere through difficult work challenges with the highest degree of dedication. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to interact and communicate effectively with personnel from all levels of the organization.
  • Must be willing to work full-time at our corporate office in Melrose Park.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
