Job Description:

Interlake Mecalux is looking to hire a 2nd shift Tool Crib Attendant to work at our plant in Melrose Park, IL.

The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing the tool crib inventory and maintaining the maintenance systems. It involves purchasing supplies and spare parts for equipment and supporting maintenance as needed. 

2nd shift: 2pm – 10pm Monday – Friday, with OT as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Order material based on usage, min/max levels or cycle counts

  • Order special items as needed to support plant operations

  • Insure that the proper levels of storeroom inventory is available to support plant production

  • Maintain an accurate inventory in the store room and spare parts. Insure that the system inventory is updated and accurate.  Investigate discrepancies and adjust errors.

  • Enter purchased receipts into the system

  • Utilize maintenance software to enter or record maintenance activities

  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.

  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations

  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities

  • Keep records on the use or damage of stock

  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to management

Minimum requirements:

  • ​​​​​Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • Proficient computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn to use e-mail, SAP, MS Excel.

  • Excellent communication skills. 

  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

  • Ability to work in hot, cold, loud, and dirty plant conditions required.  Ability to stand and walk during entire 8-hour shift required.  Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly required.
