Based in Champigny-sur-Marne, NRJ Wines is a wholesaler specializing in premium wines. The company offers a carefully curated selection of red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines, as well as champagne from renowned wine regions including Bordeaux, the Rhône Valley, Burgundy, and Languedoc-Roussillon. Its portfolio also includes an extensive range of spirits — whisky, rum, gin, cognac, vodka, Armagnac, and other distilled beverages — supplied to wine merchants, restaurants, luxury hotels, and gourmet retailers. Founded in 2022, the French company works with more than 100 winegrowers and serves over 300 hospitality-industry clients.

Premium wine wholesaler NRJ Wines aims to guarantee deliveries within 24 hours to wine merchants, restaurants, luxury hotels, and gourmet retailers in the Île-de-France region. To bolster its operations, the company implemented Mecalux’s Easy WMS warehouse management system in its Champigny-sur-Marne facility, near Paris.

The software provides real-time monitoring of more than 550 SKUs while supporting NRJ Wines’ evolving business model. Recently, the wholesaler launched a new line of business as a third-party logistics (3PL) provider. “We were looking for a solid technology platform that would allow us to grow without compromising the high standards that define our company. Easy WMS helps us structure our operations and confidently expand into new logistics services,” says Co-Founder Nicolas Duval.

Traceability for more than 400,000 bottles a year

“Our portfolio is built around strict quality standards. We evaluate vintages, select the best wineries, and identify the most promising grape varieties and appellations. That same level of rigor extends to our warehouse operations. We need complete control over the identification, monitoring, and management of every SKU to ensure full traceability,” says Duval.

Overseeing such a broad and specialized product portfolio is one of NRJ Wines’ key operational challenges. With Easy WMS, the French company monitors inventory across a wide range of products, including red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines, champagne, and organic, natural, and biodynamic varieties. The facility also stores an extensive selection of spirits, such as whisky, rum, gin, cognac, vodka, Armagnac, and other distilled beverages.

The Mecalux software also guides warehouse associates through one of NRJ Wines’ most critical processes: order picking. Easy WMS directs these workers to the exact aisle and storage location of each SKU. This level of organization is essential for shipping more than 400,000 bottles annually while ensuring deliveries within 24 hours throughout Paris and the surrounding metropolitan area. “Speed and reliability are fundamental to the reputation we’ve built with our clients,” says Duval.

New chapter as a 3PL provider

To expand its market reach, NRJ Wines has launched a new phase of growth as a specialized 3PL provider serving wine and champagne producers. The company now offers logistics services to third parties while maintaining the same quality standards applied to its own operations.

NRJ Wines implemented the WMS for 3PL, an Easy WMS module that streamlines decision-making for storage, order picking, and shipping activities. Through 3PL Client Portal, third-party companies gain complete visibility into their inventory. The module provides them with remote access to warehouse stock information in real time. Additionally, it allows them to request order fulfillment and shipping directly through the system.

NRJ Wines has also deployed Easy WMS’s 3PL Billing module. The software automatically records warehouse operations performed — such as receiving, putaway, order processing, and dispatch — and links them to the corresponding inventory owner and service rates. As a result, the wholesaler maintains detailed control over the services it provides while simplifying the management of its new third-party logistics business.
