Multi-Carrier Shipping Software module features

More flexible packing and expanded customization options

Interlake Mecalux has enhanced the capabilities of Multi-Carrier Shipping Software, the advanced Easy WMS module that automates communication with carriers and optimizes outbound processes.

These new features make packing tasks and workstation setup more flexible, helping tailor the system to each client’s specific requirements. In addition, new carriers have been integrated, and the module’s main views (Shipments, Orders, Packages, and Inventory) have been expanded and reorganized to provide more information and enable faster navigation.

New packing modes

Previously, packing modes were defined globally for the entire warehouse, limiting the level of customization needed for complex operations. The system now offers more granular configuration options:

Define packing modes by client, agency, or owner.
Support for e-commerce and 3PL operations, as well as products requiring special handling.
Greater flexibility to align processes with each contract or logistics service.
Reduced need for custom developments.

Packing station redesign

The packing structure has also been redesigned to accommodate new use cases and streamline workflows, particularly in high-volume operations.

New capabilities include:

Single packing queue: Pending inventory is grouped in a shared location, allowing any warehouse associate to handle packing tasks.
Dedicated buffer areas: New locations to stage packed goods while awaiting carrier pickup.

These improvements help balance workloads across associates and reduce idle time.

Packing at multiple workstations

Previously, a shipment could only be packed at a single workstation; this often created bottlenecks when processing high-volume orders or coordinating operations split across different warehouse zones. With this new capability, a single shipment can now be fulfilled simultaneously at multiple packing stations.

Primary use cases:

Parallel packing of large orders. Multiple warehouse associates can work on the same shipment at the same time to speed up order fulfillment.
Independent handling of special items. Specific products within the same shipment can be packed at different workstations based on their unique characteristics or processing requirements.
Zone-based distributed workflows. Shipments can be packed in different warehouse areas without moving inventory between zones.

This enhancement helps streamline high-volume order fulfillment and provide greater flexibility to support operational needs.

New carrier integrations

Finally, the module now includes additional carrier integrations to support a wider range of shipping scenarios and meet specific client and marketplace requirements.

Newly added carriers:
