New capabilities in Easy WMS’s LMS module

Greater visibility to optimize workforce performance

Labor Management System (LMS) — Easy WMS’s advanced module for measuring and analyzing the performance of warehouse associates, shifts, and departments — now offers a more comprehensive and accurate view of work performed in a facility.

The module’s updates simplify its configuration and enable it to collect data from a wider range of processes. As a result, users gain access to more comprehensive information to identify inefficiencies, understand how resources are actually being used, and make data-driven decisions based on the warehouse’s real activity.

Measuring performance at workstations

One of the module’s key new features is the ability to track processes carried out at workstations. Measurement is no longer limited to tasks performed using RF devices. LMS can also record the time spent by associates assigned to workstations connected to automated storage and retrieval systems. This update incorporates previously unmeasured activities into productivity analyses, providing a more accurate picture of overall warehouse performance.

New time-tracking template

A standardized time-tracking template has also been added. This tool guides users through measuring the different activities that make up each process and supports the collection of consistent, comparable data directly in the warehouse. These real-world measurements make it easier to establish initial target times and configure and tailor the module to each facility’s specific characteristics.

Recording time spent on indirect activities

Finally, users can now record the time spent on indirect activities that, although necessary for the warehouse’s day-to-day operation, are not linked to a specific system-guided work process. Associates can start recording these activities from the RF device as they perform them or manually enter the time spent on them afterward. Examples include cleaning and organizing, restocking consumable supplies, and preparing equipment. These activities are recorded through a dedicated indirect-work process, making it possible to distinguish time spent on direct warehouse activities from time devoted to support tasks.

The information collected can be analyzed using new Labor Management widgets in the Data Analytics module, which show the breakdown between direct and indirect work. These visuals provide an overview of how time is distributed, allow users to analyze direct work by process, break down indirect work by activity type, and track trends by shift, department, or associate.
