September 20, 2010

Interlake Mecalux has announced their intention to exhibit in Booth 2012 at the MHIA’s most comprehensive international tradeshow, ProMat 2011. This event is scheduled for March 21-24 at the McCormick Place South Convention Center in Chicago. The goal is to respond more directly to customers in the US, Mexico and Canada, as well as promoting activity in these markets. Attendees of ProMat 2011 will find a variety of solutions at the Interlake Mecalux booth to improve productivity in their facilities. Interlake Mecalux has six technological production centers serving North America: Melrose Park, IL – 391,000 ft2; Pontiac, IL – 415,000 ft2; Sumter, SC – 250,000 ft2; Middletown, PA – 128,000 ft2; Tijuana, Mexico – 378,000 ft2 and Matamoros, Mexico – 154,000 ft2.

The NAFTA area, already one of the most important for the Mecalux Group, is expected to account for 50% of sales in the future. This is a result of the major increase in North American sales for 2009 which reached 130 million USD. Due to the integration of personnel, production and products from the asset purchase of Interlake Material Handling, Mecalux is anticipating the combined operations of Interlake Mecalux to maintain and enhance this positive trend. Geographical diversification is a strong asset for the company to sustain growth during the current global economic climate.
