Mexican packaged food company Productos Carey is upgrading its logistics and production processes to support its global expansion. Today, 40% of its output is exported to markets such as the US, Spain, Germany, and Australia.
“Our business growth pushed us to move beyond manual processes. We required a technology solution that would help us work more efficiently while providing full product traceability,” says Edna Vega, Deputy Director at Productos Carey. To meet this need, the company implemented Mecalux’s Easy WMS warehouse management system in its plant in Tala (Jalisco).
Automating real-time inventory tracking
“Thanks to Easy WMS, we now record all product movements in real time — from receiving through shipping. This enables us to guarantee inventory traceability and access detailed information on each item, such as batch, location, and SKU. With this visibility, we’ve improved operational reliability and now approach audits and internal inspections with greater confidence,” says Vega.
As goods enter the warehouse, the system automatically assigns the most suitable storage location based on predefined parameters. Every receipt, order fulfillment task, and internal movement is instantly recorded. This capability eliminates discrepancies between physical operations and system data while ensuring accurate information at all times.
Integration between the warehouse and production
Daily operations begin with production orders, which notify the warehouse of the materials needed to supply the manufacturing lines. Using data from Productos Carey’s ERP system, Easy WMS plans the picking and delivery of required items to the production floor.
The system coordinates material retrieval in the warehouse by generating the most efficient routes and guiding associates to the exact location of each SKU. It also indicates the correct batch to pick based on the FIFO method (first in, first out) and the required quantities. “Easy WMS has eliminated manual searching and reduced human error,” says Vega.

Improved stock control and faster order fulfillment translate into better customer service and more efficient operations. By integrating logistics processes and administrative tasks into a single digital environment, the Mexican packaged food company has strengthened its ability to scale production without sacrificing visibility or traceability.
