Continuous Improvement Engineer - Pontiac, IL
We are hiring a Continuous Improvement Engineer to work out of our Pontiac, IL facility.
- Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, accounting and operations.
- Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements and business activity reports.
- Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
- Estimate cost saving methods and the effects of product design changes on expenditures for management review, action, and control.
- Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer.
- Communicate with management to develop production and design standards.
- Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
- Document findings of study and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizational changes.
- Prepare manuals and train workers in use of new forms, reports, procedures or equipment, according to organizational policy.
- Plan study of work problems and procedures, such as organizational change, communications, information flow, integrated production methods, inventory control, or cost analysis.
- Contribute to the establishment and implementation of departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with executive management and other personnel as needed.
- Review all plant activities through use of ERP system. Ensure that the designated shipping daily goal is met for all plants and distribution centers and direct the continuous improvement process of improving on-time shipping
- Contribute to the management of safety programs and initiatives, making efforts to continuously reduce accidents, injuries, and near misses.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or similar field of study). Master's degree preferred.
