The paper packaging company will install the Mecalux software in its facility to strictly monitor materials sent to production and finished goods.
“For the past few years, we’ve been undergoing a process of internationalization. It’s enabled us to reach countries on five continents, with a significant presence in the Spanish, Portuguese, and French markets. With increasingly optimistic growth prospects, we decided to digitalize our logistics operations with Mecalux’s Easy WMS software to take our warehouse throughput to the next level,” says Joaquín Vela, Manager of Imcovel.
In Riba-roja de Túria (Spain), Imcovel has a facility that houses all its goods distributed internationally. The center is equipped with several Mecalux storage solutions that facilitate the management of raw materials and finished products: an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) for pallets, another for boxes (mini-load), an internal transport system featuring transfer cars, and racks with the Pallet Shuttle system.
The business will implement the Easy WMS warehouse management system to track stock in much greater detail, regardless of its storage area. The software will assign a location to each item and monitor all movements of goods in real-time. “Ensuring the traceability of our packaging products is one of our top priorities,” says Vela.
Easy WMS will organize all Imcovel’s logistics operations, from storage to order fulfillment. It will also supervise the supply of raw materials to the production lines, instructing operators on which items to locate and where to send them.
Some paper bags have to be customized before being distributed to customers. To do this, Imcovel will install Value-Added Services (VAS) software, an additional functionality of Easy WMS designed specifically for customizing merchandise. The system will ensure that orders are shipped as per the conditions agreed upon with customers.
